Special Event for IAAA

IAAA 2012 Annual Meeting
Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site
March 31 - April 1, 2012

The IAAA Annual Meeting will be hosted by the Cahokia Archaeological Society (CAS).  Registration will begin at 8:30 AM on Saturday, March 31, and will be followed by the business meeting and chapter reports.  In the afternoon we will have research reports and other presentations.  We are planning an evening program, which may be a joint event with the Missouri Archaeological Society, meeting in St. Louis at the same time.

On Sunday, April 1 we are scheduling a bus trip of the American Bottom and adjacent uplands, visiting about two dozen archaeological sites.

Dr. John Kelly will lead the tour.  The tour will probably run from about 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and will include a box lunch.  This tour will also be opened to the Missouri Archaeological Society members.

After March 17, the tour will be opened to the general public, so get your reservations in before that date to insure you get a seat.

The tour fee will be $30 per person including a box lunch.  To reserve a seat, contact Larry Kinsella at: megalithics@hotmail.com for more details.

Mark your calendar now — the CAS folks are always wonderful hosts and we expect this will be a great weekend.  Full information on the meeting and a registration form will be available in the next issue of Illinois Antiquity.
